Excellence Awards - 2013
The Society of Pediatric Nurses (SPN) presents six prestigious awards recognizing excellence in pediatric nursing to individuals or groups who have demonstrated excellence.
Barbara A. Larson Humanitarian Award – 2013
This bi-annual award (presented in the year opposite the Margaret Miles Award) is given to an individual (preferably a pediatric nurse) who exemplifies the ideals, values, and commitment held by Barbara Larson to serve children by working to improve their health, well-being, and/or living conditions.
Margaret Miles Distinguished Service Award - 2014
This bi-annual award (presented in the year opposite the Barbara A. Larson Award) is given to an individual in recognition of outstanding leadership, participation, and contributions toward achieving the goals of the Society of Pediatric Nurses. Information regarding the 2014 award will be posted in July, 2013.
SCHOLARSHIPS
Academic Education Scholarship - 2013
In an effort to help members meet academic goals, two academic scholarships are awarded yearly.
PNCB / SPN Convention Scholarship 2013
The Pediatric Nursing Certification Board, in collaboration with the Society of Pediatric Nurses, offers a joint Scholarship to attend the annual SPN conference. SPN and PNCB are committed to increasing the knowledge base and enhancing the clinical, professional, and leadership development of certified pediatric nurses.
GRANTS
Research and EBP Grant Awards
Two grants may be presented yearly to SPN members for the purpose of conducting research and evidence-based practice projects or research related to children and their families. All studies ranging from pilot studies to large, multisite studies will be considered.
ANF Nursing Research Grant
The American Nurses Foundation Nursing Research Grants Program was founded 56 years ago to encourage the research career development of nurses. Each year, through this program, ANF provides funds to beginner and experiences nurse researchers to conduct studies that contribute toward the advancement of nursing science and the enhancement of patient care. The Society of Pedicatric Nurses is proud to be a supporter of the Nursing Research Grant fund.
The application cycle is February 1st through May 1st with grants being awarded in September. Applications will only be available at - http://www.anfonline.org/MainCategory/NursingResearchGrant.aspx.
